Sunday - keeps your eyes open

Its an interesting comedy - thanks to Arshad Warsi & Irfann Khan!! They make the otherwise average film watchable.

I still don't think it was worth the 200 bucks apiece ticket - the music was atrocious, Ayesha Takia can't act, Ajay Devgun was under utilized. The suspense was ok & the film carried a good message too - never take a drink from a stranger - not in Delhi at least!

Then there's Balu the taxi driver - proclaiming - I'm not a lesbian - only Arshad Can do that ;-)

I haven't learnt to quit - even when I'm ahead!
So what if the next roll of the dice goes to my adversary!!

Play on - I say!!
One roll just ain't enough!

I have it all - but the inner self is always in turmoil. There is a restlessness within, that I seek to understand - but know not how.
I daydream - of tons of wishful things , including flying horses and pigs with wings.
I endeavor to be creative, to add my touch to the events around me. I want my life to mean something more - to those around me - to me!
So I try harder - and still the dice elude me.

Who the Fu** is Robert Vadhra?

Friday, January 25, 2008
Just a fella who married a political daughter.

So why does he get security , Z Class?
Why is he exempt from frisking at the airport, when all our service chiefs had to undergo it?
Does one marriage qualify him for all that - esp since she is not a serving member of any governmental agency? As someone put it quite coyly - he married the daughter of the power behind the throne!!

They block the friggin traffic if his entourage has to pass..... man!!
Someone ought to clobber some sense into the BABUs who run this country...We ain't gonna last for much long like this!

Happy Republic Day 2008!!

Learnings from the year gone by!!

Monday, January 21, 2008
Every year throws up its own set of issues and solutions.
2007 wasn't any different.
It's just that the issues this year had more of a global impact!
  • Arjun is not to argue with women - he stood some semblance of a chance in the past - now that he's married & that too to a lady whose profession is arguing - he stands no chance!
  • All thoughts of purchasing goodies for oneself are to be taken in perspective - multiply the cost of the item bought for self by a factor of 2 to 3 (depends on mood of lady) and provision the said amount for her purchases. - this ain't true - but you get the general idea!
  • There is MOM & there is MA - both will shower you with love - but one must tread carefully cos this is a slippery path - where they all have tender nerves.
  • Half gharwalis are the only ones with unconditional love
  • The X Box 360 is a good gaming console - but one must console oneself to enjoying its delights on a very limited basis after the matrmonial bond is entered into.
  • Even if you do things the same way as you used to before marriage - comments to the effect that you have changed are to be expected.
  • When your sister gets married - the bridegroom can call you SAALA - and you must feel nice about it.
  • The urge to party every weekend dies out.... after a while!
  • Romantic movies are for cosy viewing - action thrillers are when you take a day off from work and go watch them alone!
  • The garbage must be taken out by 7:30AM in the morning!
  • The INTERESTING DVD/VCD collection is no longer accessible.
  • One must become adept at living the life of a SERF - everyone is BOSS except you!
  • Office is fun!!
Everything i said above is a load of cr**. I'm sure you don't believe me - neither do I.

Welcome 08

Monday, January 21, 2008
The pen has been silent for a long time now. It's not like i didn't have anything to write or convey.
The paucity of time coupled with the lack of willpower to sit down and make the effort to consolidate thoughts led to this hiatus from the blogging screen.
Well it's time to make amends and start 2008!

For starters - welcome to 2008!!

The new year promises some fresh starts!
There's Tina & Gautam starting their married life - wishing them the very best of luck!
Then there's me - planning to be a better person this year - less crap, more results!

Here are some things I hope will happen this year:-
- We start saving up for a new house this year - lets see if we can get it in the next 2 years or so
- We hope to be in LA for the new years 2009 - so mebbe Sups can get her passport done before that.
- We can spend more time with the family - whether its n Gurgaon or Kolkata - in a meaningful manner.
- Less of arguments and more on results for me and everyone else around me.
- Sups and me could lose a few inches around the waist by maintaining a more strict regime on that treadmill of ours!
- India will win the one day series down under and teach the AUSSIE MONKEYS a thing or two.

OK - the last one was more wishful than anything else - but then again I hope it happens!!
